_____________________Aufgrund der Corona-Pandemie können Studierende bisher ihre Arbeiten nicht bei Werkausstellungen präsentieren. The Circle Works möchte aus diesem Grund eine Plattform schaffen, in welcher regionaler Austausch mit einem reellen Publikum stattfinden kann.

The Circle Works (O) ist ein EchtzeitLabor, das von von Studierenden des Fachbereichs für Gestaltung der FH Aachen, der Fakultät für Architektur der RWTH und der Hogeschool Zuyd. Hier wird erforscht, wie ein gemeinsamer Mehrwert aus interdisziplinärer Zusammenarbeit entstehen kann.

Das Kurzfilm Festival soll Ende August eine Möglichkeit für die Teilnehmer bieten, ihre persönlichen Arbeiten, trotz der aktuellen Situation, präsentieren zu können.

Mit der Unterstützung von C/O Custom Organisation findet das Festival am 28.08.2020
in der ehemaligen Tuchfabrik der Charlottenstraße 14, Aachen statt.

Q. Warum ist The Circle Works zusammengekommen?

Die Mitglieder vom (O) möchten herausfinden, wie eine interdisziplinäre Zusammenarbeit über Alters-, Genre-, Gender- und Ländergrenzen hinweg aussehen kann. Ein großes Problem stellt ihrer Meinung nach der fehlende Austausch unter den einzelnen Fachbereichen dar.

Q: Welche Themen möchte The Circle Works mit diesem Short Film Festival ansprechen?

Bei dieser Filmveranstaltung können die Studierenden ihre Arbeiten live auf einer Leinwand präsentieren und sich anschließend mit dem Publikum in einer Atmosphäre austauschen.
Jeder kann alles einreichen und es gibt keine Restriktionen. Vom einminütigen Werbespot bis hin zu einem Stummfilm von 15 Minuten kann alles dabei sein.

Unser Projekt lebt von individueller Stärke und gemeinschaftlichem Handeln. Damit das Festival realisiert werden kann, freuen wir uns auf eure Beteiligung und eine zukünftige Partnerschaft.

Q: Wie will The Circle Works unter der aktuellen Situation ein Film Festival umsetzen?

Derzeit wird an einem Sicherheitskonzept gearbeitet, welches gewährleistet, dass alle Mitglieder und Besucher ausreichend geschützt sind. Dieses wird an die aktuellen Bestimmungen, bezüglich Abstandsregelungen und Maskenpflicht, angepasst. Die ehemalige Tuchfabrik in der Charlottenstraße ermöglicht ein entspanntes Ambiente vor einer denkmalgeschützten Industriekulisse im Herzen des Frankenberger Viertels.

Es wird kleine Bereiche geben, in denen die Zuschauer ein kühles Bier, Popcorn, die Vorführung und eine gemütliche Sommernacht genießen können, um dem Alltag ein wenig zu entkommen.

In Zukunft wird das Areal für neuen Wohnraum weichen. Das Short Film Festival bietet eine einmalige Gelegenheit das Gelände der alten Tuchfabrik im ursprünglichen Zustand gemeinsam zu beleben.

Q: Welche Rolle spielen C/O Custom Organisation für das Netzwerk von the circle works?

C/O bietet den Mitgliedern eine professionelle Infrastruktur außerhalb des akademischen Rahmens.
das ermöglicht die Entstehung eines Netzwerkes, in dem sich die verschiedenen Fachbereiche verweben
und gemeinsame Projekte verwirklicht werden können.

Open Call: for the circle works short film festival

Due to the corona pandemic, the traditional procedures of students’ work exhibitions
cannot be implemented under these circumstances. For this reason, The Circle Works would like to create a platform where an exchange with an international audience can take place.

The Circle Works (O) is a real-time laboratory, founded by students from the Department of Design at the FH Aachen, the Faculty of Architecture of the RWTH and Hogeschool Zuyd. Here, research is being carried out on
how interdisciplinary cooperation can emerge.

We are planning a short film festival where students with interdisciplinary skill sets get a framework
to present their work to an audience. With the support of C/O Custom Organization,
the festival will take place on August 28, 2020 in the former cloth factory Charlottenstraße 14, Aachen.

Q. Why did The Circle Works ensemble?

The members of (O) want to find out how an interdisciplinary collaboration can develop across age, genre, gender and country borders. In their opinion, the lack of exchange poses a major problem among the individual departments.

Q: What topics does The Circle Works want to address with this Short Film Festival?

At this film event, students can present their work live on canvas and then engage themselves with the audience in an unforgettable atmosphere. We are redefining community. Anyone can submit anything.
There are no restrictions. From a one-minute commercial to a silent film of 15 minutes, everything can be submitted.

Q: How under the current situation, does The Circle Works want to implement a film festival?

We are currently working on a security concept which ensures that all members and visitors are adequately protected. This will comply with the current regulations adjusted with regard to social distance regulations
and mask requirement.

The former cloth factory in Charlottenstraße, in the heart of the Frankenberger district, makes this possible and creates a relaxed atmosphere in front of a listed industrial setting. There will be small areas where viewers can have a cool drink, popcorn and enjoy the show. At this cozy summernight you can escape the everyday life.

In the future the area will be demolished for new living space. The Short Film Festival offers one of the few opportunities to experience the area of ​​the old cloth factory in its original condition.

Our project subsists on individual commitment and collective action. In order for the festival to be realized,
we look forward to your participation and a future partnership.

Q: What role do C / O Custom Organization play? For The Circle Works network?

Custom organization offer members a professional infrastructure outside the academic framework. C / O enables the creation of a network, in which the various departments interweave and joint projects can be realized.
